BIOGRAPHY

Born the second child of Y'raella & Kaahe Holliday in the frontier town of Shaaloanian in the northern portion of Xak'Tural, Kaine grew up in a fairly poor family, but filled with love. He spent the first ten years of his life in Tural before his family immigrated to the city of Ul'dah in Thanalan when an his brother-in-law, made him a promising offer for a job back in the homeland of his beloved wife called Eorzea.Settling in the city of Ul'dah, The Holliday family would soon realize that their immigration to Eorzea would cause as much trouble for them as it did opportunity; while they did not want for love-- money was a different story... after all, not many people wanted to hire a miqo'te from the new world--- let alone mixed seeker & keeper couple... after all, racism runs deep on the Source, Eorzea was no different. Especially not Ul'dah.
With finances tight, the family ended up living within the infamous Pearl Lane district of the city.Due to the prejudice of Ul'dah, Kaine found he had trouble making new friends in this strange land due to his appearance... as it seemed in the rest of the world; a miqo'te born of sun & moon was looked upon with great distain... This instilled Kaine with a hardened exterior and a drive to prove his worth, to excel above those who had looked down upon him. Such a drive often found itself misplaced, as he ended up getting into trouble quite often. Even going as far to join a street-gang as a rebellious youth; The Pearl-Lane Angels. Throughout his teens Kaine was involved in all manner of gangland crime, from smuggling dope to stealing chocoboos, even burglarizing the occasional merchant caravan.However, on one particular evening; Kaine found himself on the business end of a Yellow Jacket's spear when he and some of his fellow Angels attempted to smuggle some somnus into Limsa...
Having just reached his 18th nameday, Kaine was given a choice. Spend the next 10 years in prison; or serve in the Limsan Marines for a 10-year contract... The choice was easy for Kaine--- And thus enlisted within the Limsan Marines; placed within 222nd Infantry Battalion; B-Company; more commonly referred to as "Bad Company" a unit insubordinates, hell-raisers and troublemakers. Known for its high-mortality rate and expendability...For ten years Kaine underwent countless high-risk operations with Bad Company; from sabotage to HVT's, Kaine found purpose in the LSMC and developed a deep love for his squamates and B-company itself. Sure enough 10 years passed and his contract was up... somehow he'd survived. Once released into civilian life; he began to wonder what was next for him...Returning to civilian life, Kaine found it difficult fitting in-- when one day at a bar, a friend from the Marines convinced him to take up a job in Law Enforcement... even going as far to recommend him for a position at the Federal Bureau Of Inquiry... Though only working with the Bureau for a year before ultimately resigining and opening a private investigation firm; "Holliday Investigators" where he has been for the last 5 years.
